EMG Class Information

Extension Master Gardener volunteers of Stokes County

Are you interested in becoming an Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer? The Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer Program is a national program of trained volunteers who work in partnership with their N.C. Cooperative Extension Center to extend research-based information about gardens, lawns, and landscapes to their community. The NC State University and A & T University support these efforts for our Stokes County Extension!

In Stokes County, Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers work with N.C. Cooperative Extension to provide gardeners with unbiased, research-based information on gardens, lawns, and landscapes.

Under the guidance of our Agriculture Agent, volunteers complete a 40-hour training program, pass an examination, and complete a 40-hour internship within the next 12 months. To remain active in the program, volunteers must log a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer service and 10 hours of continuing education each year.
